Dr Cassie Jackson offers training and workshops on all matters relating to FASD. Training is generally commissioned by Local Authorities, Schools, Virtual Schools, NHS teams or specialist organisations such as FASD South West.
The most frequently requested FASD training packages include:
Workshops specifically for adoptive and/or foster parents, including information about FASD assessment and diagnosis, the neurodevelopmental and cognitive profile in FASD, managing behaviour associated with FASD, and issues relating to education.
Training sessions for education staff, social care professionals, or health professionals. Depending on the audience, this training focuses on the specifics of FASD assessment and diagnosis including co-occurring conditions, picking apart attachment and trauma presentations, and how to best support families affected by FASD. This will include advice around behaviour management, education, and issues relating to independence.
Training sessions for children’s home staff on how best to support a child with FASD in a residential setting.
Training sessions for organisations or teams providing therapy and support to children who may have FASD.
Training is usually delivered online, which enables delivery and accessibility across the UK. However, Dr Jackson does regularly deliver presentations at conferences across East Anglia and can provide in-person training in the region if preferred.
